How do you choose a doctor for butt filler?

BeforeAfterEach case is individual and results vary from person to person.
To choose who will perform your butt filler, check five points that do not depend on advertising: an active CRM (Brazilian medical license), verifiable training, specific experience with the buttocks, a product identified in front of you, and personal follow-up of complications. Google ranking, photos, and reviews help, but they are not enough. Below, each criterion explained, with Dr. Thiago Perfeito's data for you to compare.
Why does the choice of doctor weigh so heavily in butt filler?
In the buttocks, the volume of product is many times greater than in the face, and the gluteal vessels lie in the deep planes, under the muscle. The same product, in the hands of different professionals, can have different results and risks, because what decides is the indication, the injection plane, the technique, and what happens afterward.
Experience with facial filler also does not transfer automatically to the body: the layers are different, body products behave differently, and the assessment requires looking at the whole body, not just the butt. That is why it is worth asking specifically about the buttocks.
The five criteria that follow have one advantage: all of them can be checked by you, before or during the consultation, without needing to understand technique.
Criterion 1: is the doctor's CRM active?
It is the starting point. What qualifies someone to perform filler is an active medical registration with the Regional Council of Medicine (CRM). To check, go to the CFM physician search portal, choose the state, and search by name or by number. The status must appear as active.
Dr. Thiago Perfeito: CRM-DF 23199, a physician practicing Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine.
The CRM shows that the person is a physician and may practice. What it does not show is experience with the procedure you want to have — and that is why the other four criteria exist.
Criterion 2: can the training be verified?
Useful training is the kind that comes with the name of the institution, the type of course, and the year. Be wary of vague phrases, such as "trained at Harvard" with no explanation of what it was: a course lasting a few days and a long graduate program are not the same thing, and the patient usually has no way of telling them apart.
Dr. Thiago Perfeito: a master's degree in Aesthetic Medicine from Esneca (Spain), completed in 2024, and international training at Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic, in the form of continuing medical education and clinical observation. None of these international programs is a residency or a fellowship, and that is how they are described. The full path, item by item, is in about the author.
Criterion 3: is there specific experience with the buttocks?
Ask directly: how many buttock cases the doctor has done, with which products, and whether he or she can show photos of his or her own cases.
Dr. Thiago Perfeito: more than 500 buttock cases. Some of these cases are in the before and after gallery.
At the consultation, also notice whether the doctor asks about your goal — volume, a more lifted butt, hip dips, or sagging skin — before talking about product. The goal is what defines the plan, not the other way around.
Criterion 4: will you see the product that goes into your body?
You have the right to know exactly what will be injected: brand name, product class, lot, expiration date, and quantity.
Dr. Thiago Perfeito: the product box is shown and opened in front of you, and the lot labels of all the boxes used are affixed to your chart. He works only with absorbable products and does not use PMMA — the reason is in PMMA and safety.
If a provider does not show the box, does not give the lot, or answers evasively about what the product is, that is already a reason to look for another.
Criterion 5: who takes care of you if there is a complication?
Ask before you book: if something goes off course, who sees you? Through which channel? And at night, on the weekend? The answer says a lot about the provider.
Dr. Thiago Perfeito: any complication in his patients is followed personally, and closely, by Dr. Thiago himself.
This applies to any doctor: faced with a serious sign, if the professional cannot be reached right away, go to an emergency room. The signs are explained in recovery and aftercare.
Are Google ranking, photos, and reviews enough?
They help, but they are not enough. Google ranking measures, to a large extent, the quality of the doctor's website, not his or her technique. Photos can have different light, angle, and posture between the before and the after, which changes the impression a great deal — see how to spot this on the before and after page. And reviews usually talk about the service, rarely about the product used or what happened a year later.
Use these signals to put together your initial list. Then confirm each name against the five criteria.
| Criterion | How you check it | Dr. Thiago Perfeito |
|---|---|---|
| Active CRM | Search on the CFM portal | CRM-DF 23199 |
| Verifiable training | Institution, type of course, and year | Master's degree in Aesthetic Medicine (Esneca, Spain, 2024); international training: Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic |
| Experience with the buttocks | Number of cases and own photos | More than 500 buttock cases |
| Product identification | Box opened in front of you; lot recorded | Box opened in front of the patient; lot labels affixed to the chart |
| Complications | Who sees you and through which channel | Personal, close follow-up by the physician himself |

- What is the total price of the plan, with the calculation explained? (butt filler cost)
- What will the first days be like, and when can I work out? (recovery)
- Will I see the product box and have the lot in my chart?
